Max-R first partnered with Petco Park in 2016 to upgrade their concourse and outdoor recycling bins. The San Diego Padres and their Padres Go Green Initiative are committed to meeting their sustainability goals and needed waste and recycling bins that met all their aesthetic, branding, and recycling needs.
Discovery
- Current bins do not match the aesthetics of the stadium

After learning more about Petco Park and the San Diego Padre’s sustainability program, their needs and recycling program goals, our ideation team went to work in conceiving the best solution to the pain points.
Concept
In order to connect the Padre’s brand initiatives with their goals, Max-R designed several options that included the team logo, the Petco Park logo, and the “San Diego Padres Go Green logo”. The designs were done in a classic navy and gray two-tone color combination, with a coordinating indoor and outdoor options.
Visualization
After the initial concepts were approved, the Max-R team provided several rendered solutions for the San Diego Padres and Petco Park team to review, edit, and approve before moving into production. The Max-R team created coordinating indoor/outdoor solutions that incorporated the organization’s logos, design standards, and could be applied to any capacity bin.
The Results
The Max-R bins found at Petco Park Stadium check all the boxes: supports stadium aesthetics, bin capacity matches need, aligns the organization’s brands with their recycling initiatives.
