- Drive Recycling Goals
Mercedes-Benz Stadium had the lofty goal to become the most sustainable sports venue in the world. The beautiful, uniquely designed stadium was scheduled to open in August 2017. Prior to their opening, the Mercedes-Benz team came to Max-R to partner together on a bin design that supported all of their sustainability and recycling initiatives.
Concept
A stadium as unique in design as Mercedes-Benz deserved a thoughtful bin design. A mix of signature Max-R styles and custom designs, along with logo applications and functional requirements such as hinges, interchangeable tops, and opening IDs were the genesis behind the waste and recycling bins presented to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium team.
Visualization
The custom designed bin that tapered at the bottom was warmly welcomed by the team. To show a full breadth of options, interchangeable tops, logo applications, and different colored tops were presented to help narrow down the final designs.
The Results
Large capacity, custom designed waste and recycle bins flank the entrance of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The final design enhances the curb appeal of the stadium, supports their recycling goals, and are made of Max-R’s signature recycled plastic lumber, helping to support the Stadium’s goals of LEED certification.
